SW-DP-2 allows you to switch a physical connection over DisplayPort. This may, for example. Used with 2 computers and 1 monitor. When you press the 1st button, the connection is physically switched to port 1 and port 2 will be disconnected. The connections are switched between a 3rd port "IN / OUT". This is the port you would to connect to the screen if you switched between 2 PCs.
