EDID-GHOST is an EDID (Extended Display Identification Data) emulator of a display's EDID information.
EDID-GHOST emulates the screen's information to the PC when the EDID signal cannot be sent through from the screen if, for example, a video extender or KVM switch is used.
To load EDID data from the screen into EDID-GHOST, connect it directly to the screen, then press the "EDID Copy" button. If there is no EDID available on the screen, EDID-GHOST then has Default EDID, which is then used to emulate the desired resolution, which is selected using switch.
EDID : Extended Display Identification Data is a stream of data that many monitors send serially with information about the screen's resolution, aspect ratio, speed and much more.
