The keyboard has removable plastic caps for the keys. The keyboard can be set up to make a sound when a key is pressed. POS-KEY78 has a built-in magnetic card reader for tracks 1 and 2 and POS-KEY78 also has a lock that can block certain functions on the keyboard, such as crediting at the cash register, etc. The keyboard allows for multiple "layers" of data on each key. Up to 16 layers can be used. Each layer works in the same way as SHIFT, CTRL and ALT work on a regular keyboard.
